ONE

acrylic, Mar.201

When she was in love, she measured the smallest circles of someone's body, from nose, fingers, nipple to eyelashes. When she loses that person, she recalled a famous philosophical quote that "Man is the measure of all things". So she decided to create a template, to record and convey a certain size of absence.
However, the artist realised that she was actually in a contradiction, as templates are often used to locate, measure and quantify a common fact, not the unique intangible. Thus, this template loses its function.

No wonder she failed. She never learned the complete statement -- "Man is the measure of all things: of the things that are, that they are, of the things that are not, that they are not." The die was cast, this infographic object is still one of the best things she can have to let those intangible go through. Maybe you can even call it a love letter.
